What to do..

With the recent laying off of teachers in practically every state, it is not uncommon for teachers to reconsider their professions. I have not had a change of heart, I still want to work with children, but just out of curiosity, I researched the 5 most secure occupations and here they are...

1. Nurses
2. College Professors
3. Physical Therapists
4. Dental Hygienist
5. Pharmacist

I'm sure most of us could predict some of these, college professor I was surprised at, as well as dental hygienist. Well, I guess everyone wants a white smile, right?

That is interesting. College professors who already have jobs may be secure, but colleges aren't hiring the way they used to, so recent or soon-to-be Ph.D. grads (like my husband) are still fighting an uphill battle.

It makes sense that nurses are number 1, they are always in need. It's a shame that teachers are being let go.

Its actually kind of sad that colleg professers are on the list. Not a lot of kids are going to be going to college if they don't have good teachers, starting in Elementary school.

College Professors have a little thing known as tenure, but it's a biatch getting hired and obtaining it...other profs have to die first I think. LOL

Interesting that 4 out of 5 were related to medical field. What source was this from?
