Fluffy Fingers

Dwight Schrute: There is this yellow zigzag that does give Ryan the authority to discipline Stanley,--
Michael Scott: Great.
Dwight Schrute: However in so doing, it zigs past your name, hence zagging you and making you appear weak. That's the yellow color, yellow, for cowardly.
Michael Scott: What's the pink?
Dwight Schrute: Menstrual cycles.

This was probably one of the more serious (and I use this term loosely) episodes of "The Office" that I have ever seen.

Before we get to the real meat and potatoes of the episode (a.k.a. the Clash of the Titans a.k.a. Stanley vs. Michael), what is going on with this Ryan vs. Jim plot line? Ryan paid a little visit to the Scranton branch this episode and flat out told Jim his job was in jeopardy because he spent too much time flirting at the reception desk and goofing around. Seriously intimidating. But I think Ryan's coke problem will be revealed before Jim can be punished. And I even predict that Jim might be getting offered Ryan's job (just a thought!).

On to the Clash of the Titans. Wow, Stanley, wow. This plot line was a little too serious for my liking. I thought for real that Stanley was going to be fired for his 'did I stutter?' comment. That was seriously an intense little battle. However, I did like that we saw Michael get a little bit of respect from Stanley at the end of the episode. My heart goes out to Michael Scott and his awkwardness, and how he has no friends -- it's like he can't help himself! And then I remember what it's like to work for a boss like Michael and I commend Stanley for saying something (even thought it was entirely inappropriate).

Also, please, please, please tell me why Michael didn't use the 'fluffy fingers' technique. I kept waiting and waiting for him to start tickling Stanley, but nothing. Very disappointing.

I also had some side thoughts. Did Angela look a little puffy to anyone else? I think she might be real life preggers because they are only showing her from the face up. I hope this doesn't mean she'll be gone from the show for long after the birth! Angela is one of my favorite characters with her scathing glares and her love of cats.

Jim and Pam. Sigh. I can only hope that someday I fall in love with a Jim Halpert-esque man. I loved how he "proposed" that Pam go get him a nice, hot coffee for their brainstorming meeting with Michael. How long do you think the writers are going to tease us like this? I would love it if Jim just randomly stood up one episode and said, "Pam, will you marry me?". That would probably make my 2008 a whole lot brighter.

Angela is indeed pregnant in real life. In fact, I think she might be due soon. She's HUGE in pictures (which is funny, since she's such a tiny person).

Oh, also...

Because they've already shown the ring... I have this suspicion that now things WON'T work out between Jim and Pam. And the fact that he already bought the ring is going to make it more heart-breaking.

Ryan's sudden aggression makes me really mad. I've never liked him... I agree that the coke situation will be revealed and result in a job shuffle.

Why is everyone hitting on Pam lately? It's crazy! And why have Pam and Jim been weird during the last two episodes?

I LOVE that Darryl mentioned that Newsies as one of his gangs. I nearly died laughing...while I watched it at work. Oops.

It actually wasn't a Ryan vs. Jim thing. It was a Toby vs. Jim thing in disguise. That's why they showed a Toby confessional right after it. Ryan was just there because Toby complained about Jim. So again, Ryan is just a tool. :o)

I wanted to see "fluffy fingers" go somewhere, too.

Angela's due date is on the 9th. Exciting! There are a bunch of cute and funny videos at NBC.com about her pregnancy. Just go to the Office site and click on videos. :o)

Man...I totally didn't catch on that Ryan was the one with the Coke problem, BUT I wasn't paying 100% attention.

I heart Pam & Jim, but I think Angela is right - something is going to happen. Jim could very well end up taking Ryan's job.

Oh man.

Yep Angela is due May 9th actually, and since they just wrapped on filming the finale we will not miss any Angela moments! (except for the lack of supporting characters we've seen since the writer's strike, though this episode did have some more, which I was thankful for). If you haven't visited Office Tally, you should definitely check it out. Everything Office related you could ever want :)

I ADORED the opener this week. I almost died laughing. And have only watched it about four times since :)

Angela is pregnant in real life and due any day now. She has looked really puffy and the "hiding" of her stomach behind stuff hasn't been overly effective. Fluffy fingers was hilarious and I hope JAM stuff looks up before the finale.

So, I almost laughed out loud in a meeting yesterday when our CEO responded to a question by saying, "Well, there are basically two schools of though...etc." I felt like I was looking across the table at Dwight!

Angela actually had her baby yesterday I think...

I totally agree with you about the Ryan vs. Jim thing! I really think that Jim is going to get offered Ryans job and that is going to throw a hitch in the whole Jim and Pam thing. The thing is I think Pam would to NYC with him... so there must be another issue that's going to come up.

I'm with you on the fluffy fingers! What happened with that? Maybe I'll go check the deleted scenes on nbc.com to see if they posted them on there...

I can't believe some bloggers are saying the office isn't good anymore since the strike! I've laughed my ass off at the past few eps.. and had to watch the fluffy fingers one 3 times! Oh- and Angela had her kid yesterday I think!
