Feedback, Feedback, OH!

My younger sister sent me an email a few minutes before midnight yesterday. Bless her college bedtime. This is what she wrote:

"[my friends and i] were just discussing your blog
and we decided we like when there are pictures, youtube videos, links, etc
we also like the blogs titled: "while i was procrastinating at work today, i found..."
k, loveeee ya!"

It got me thinking. WG2 and I often discuss, and sometimes fight about, what we think you like about Working Girl. What posts you enjoy and comment on. Whether or not we should write more informative posts about interviews, resumes, bosses, etc. We pretty much base our arguments on your comments. But I know, I sometimes read a post on a blog, have my own thoughts and do not post a comment.

So, we're asking for your feedback. What do you like? What don't you like? Do we complain too much? Should we complain more? (Because I totally can if you want!) How do you feel about features like Ask Working Girl, Meeting Notes, Working Girl Wears or contributor posts?

Oh and Sister, I'll write a "while i was procrastinating at work, i found..." post soon!

I like the work anecdotes a lot. Basically, your pain entertains me, sad but true.

I like the posts with tips on interviewing and being an assistant as well as the ones about crazy things that happened during your day. I also enjoy Meeting Notes.

I loved the last few posts (The Best [Interview] Day of my Life ones)! My favorite posts are the work anecdotes that make me laugh. And, no, you definitely don't complain too much. I like posts I can relate to, and I can definitely relate to complaining, haha.

honestly, I like the variety of posts you have...I think you cater to a wide audience by keeping things interesting. Keep doing what you're doing! If I had to make one request, it would be what you wear to work now since it's cold. I'm a grad student in DC and I teach undergrad classes sometimes and being young, I still like to be chic, professional, trendy, and warm at the same time. But some days, the urge to throw on skinny jeans, a cute button down, and knee high boots is all to prelavent... :)

I agree, your anecdotes are my favorite part! While the interview tips and whatnot are helpful, I usually come to your blog hoping for some entertainment as well! Meeting notes are pretty great too.

Anecdotes, anecdotes, anecdotes. I don't know about everyone else but the anecdotes keep me grounded by letting me know that I'm not the only one who has to deal with annoying or quirky people.

I love all of your insight into practical work situations! You make it so hilarious then I can deal better when I'm faced with a stressful situation at work! Thanks!

I like how you are able to mix work and going out/social life, and still manage to stay grounded...it's not easy to do!

like everyone else, i love all your anecdotes! they keep me entertained! but the variety of your posts is what keeps me coming back - working girl wears, meeting notes, ask working girl and all the tidbits into your lives.

I'm just going to give y'all lots of Kudos. I think y'all have a great mixture that keeps everyone entertained. My shallow side could use more Working Girl Wears!

Anything having to do with personal experiences (totally including the complaining) is great - it makes us fellow WG's feel like we're not alone in feeling/reacting the way we do. Would like to see a greater majority of that than the other Meeting Notes or Working Girl Wears tidbits (like once a month or something). But in all, the entire blog is lovely!

I agree with Maria and hecallsmefreida - you should definitely include more of what working girls are wearing on the east coast. Being that I am from the Inland Northwest I don't get to see too many new fashions since they are almost OUT OF fashion so knowing about Purple before it hit the isles in our local stores was too much fun. I was implementing it earlier and looking for JUST THE RIGHT purple bag before everyone else was! Awesomeness!!!
I love your blog though no matter what you do, it gives me a release during my sometimes too monotonous day!

I love the guest posts, hearing the real stories about your friends and the steps it took them to reach success. I also enjoy your work fashion advice, and posts that include good finds or your favourite brands :).

I like the working girl wears... and the anecdotes! I work close to DC but it still feels like small town compared to the big city. so big city stories are entertaining!

This blog is a daily read for me! The anecdotes are my favorites. It is nice to hear two different points of view of two people who are in the same situation as I am. I really enjoy your blog. I guess my least favorite is Ask Working Girl.

Props on producing such a fantastic blog!

It's nice to see a mix... I enjoy "Ask Working Girl" and "Meeting Notes" post but I also enjoy reading your tips as well as just stories about your day to day lives.

I too love to share in your pain:) So, I like it when you complain about other people...And, pictures are always nice. I love the fashion advice too.

I read every day but rarely comment. I just read so many blogs that if I commented on each one I would never get any *actual* work done:)

I definitely would like more stories about how hard it is being so young and trying to fit into this adult world especially made for us who are just out of college but have the job where most coworkers are their parents' age.

Less complaining.

Oh, and...it's a REALLY bad idea to talk about your drunken exploits with your co-workers and boss on the internet.

I like the work stuff. The q&a are cute but not my favorites...unless you answer my question...but then again, I'd have to submit one.
But I do have to ask....where do you get the fun pix? I too like it when you attach a pix in relation to the post.
I also like the posts about tv shows. So is Lipstick Jungle cancelled or not? And did you see ANTM finale last night? Total let down.

I like what you guys do here. The anecdotes are definitely my favorite, but I love your blog in general. I love all of the work stories - I just started working the real world this summer, so its nice to see some one relates. Keep up the good word!

I love reading about work-related anecdotes on your blog. Also, being from a different country it's fun reading about life in NY.
Write more about that :-)

I'm completely new to blogging, and I'm in awe. I love the anecdotes, the style, the witty writing. I relate to a LOT of it because I'm a 20-something working girl.

P.S. I don't even read that often because I can't procrastinate at work. But, main point, I love your blog.
