"Project Runway": I'm in!
Last night's "Lipstick Jungle" challenge: I'm out! And so is WG2.
Last winter, both ABC and NBC filled the void of the writers strike with short seasons of two Working Girl shows, "Cashmere Mafia" and "Lipstick Jungle," respectively. As two girls who love television, WG2 and I were beyond excited about these work-related dramedies.
"Cashmere Mafia" was everything I wanted it to be and more. As I said in January, "Cashmere Mafia" makes me want to take on the business world in a couture dress and 4-inch heels. Lipstick Jungle was the complete opposite. As WG2 said in February, "I don't have "Lipstick Jungle" fever."
Needless to say, we were completely dumbfounded as to why "Cashmere Mafia" was cancelled and "Lipstick Jungle" was not. I'm still hoping that ABC is playing a joke on us and bringing back Mia, Zoe, Juliet, and Caitlin. As unrealistic as their lives were, they inspired me to work hard and focus on my career. And, bottom line, it was fun! The "Lipstick Jungle" ladies made me depressed and convinced me that if I become a career woman I'll be alone for the rest of my life. Who wants to believe that? Even if it could be the reality.
However, last night's episode of "Project Runway" made me rethink my hatred of "Lipstick Jungle." How can a Working Girl hate Brooke Shields? She's definitely a Working Girl Idol.
September 24th, when "Lipstick Jungle" premieres, I'm going to give it another chance, another try. At the very least, I'm going to watch for Keith's sexy outfit:

De-lurking to say I totally agree too. Loved cashmere mafia. Just couldn't get into lipstick jungle.
I had to switch to Lipstick Jungle because ABC cancelled Cashmere Mafia. Bollocks. I loved that show! I want to be a powerful business woman in five inch heels! Don't know if I'll make it through the day, but I'll try!
Hey! I watched that too. I liked the skirt, but not the print on the top...too potted plant looking for me.
Give it another shot! It's one of my favorite shows. Plus, Kirby (the resident hottie) is very cute.
I totally loved Cashmere Mafia too!
I have yet to see Lipstick Jungle, but like you, after seeing PR lastnight, I might just have to give it a try.
I just loved Keith's outfit.
i have never seen either show, but just seeing the constant lipstick jungle commercials running during the olympics is enough to know that these women are horrible people who are mean and cheat on their husbands. who wants to watch that?
I think the runner up dress looked more jungle like, don't you?
I loved that winning outfit. So neat!
Honestly, I didn't think any of the outfits last night were that great. I'm really glad Blane didn't go home though. He is too entertaining to leave this early.
MORE IMPORTANTLY - Cashmere Mafia has been canceled???? No! CM was SO much better than Lipstick Jungle. That really sucks.
I didn't watch Lipstick Jungle or Cashmere Mafia beyond the first episode. They seemed like lesser versions of SATC from what I have seen.
YES!!! Puhleeze give Lipstick Jungle another chance. I LOVE THAT SHOW! Everything stops when that show is on.
Regrettably, I didn't watch Cashmere Mafia, but I did watch Lipstick Jungle. And I hate to admit, but I enjoyed it. At first, it was kind of cheesy, but it got better towards the end. I can't believe I'm saying this here, but I can't wait for Sepember when series returns...
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! I loved Cashmere Mafia and I was soo sad when I found out it was cancelled. How could ABC do that to us??
I will definitely watch again just to see the outfit. I wonder if LeathAH will every make something network television worthy????hahahah
Love Project Runway! Probably because it brings back of the days I'd create and sew. But I never saw each of these shows, although it Lipstick Jungle is often advertised? It's that good?
I haven't watched either, but now I might pay attention. I do watch project runway though!
i, too, love Cashmere Mafia and was VERY surprised to see that it wasn't coming back.
(I'm nowhere near finished drooling over that hot manny!)
