It is October and it has just begun to feel like fall in NYC. I have been particularly giddy about the change in weather patterns because I get to wear my new fall coat that I picked up at The Gap on sale a few weeks back. It's grey and oh so gorgeous and makes me a feel like a Working Girl who could defeat the world (all good coats should make you feel that way).
Fall means that I can hide my bumps with big sweaters, long pants, and awesome jackets that make you feel like a superwoman. But fall also means that I'm gonna have to start drying my hair in the mornings which makes me a little unhappy. But on the up side, I might actually start looking like a human being at work!
So in honor of fall, here are two outfits that I am immediately going to purchase. Everything featured are from my favorite "save me money" stores Forever 21, Old Navy, and Target.
I am recently loving on purple and according to WG1 it is the go-to color of the season. I am also really into rings lately - big and gaudy is my motto. Brings a little bit of flair into my day-to-day outfits.
While this outfit is on the verge of being "too wintery", I still love it. My wardrobe is all about grey, black and red this fall.
Omigosh do I just love autumn and hot chocolate and apple cider and hay stacks and leaves!

Being down here in Palm Beach it won't fell like fall until, well, never. That's good for me though because the stores still stock their shelves with fall apparel while marking down the outgoing spring and summer stuff. That allows me to still pick up shorts and tees at great prices without having to wait until next year to wear them.
AH! Both outfits are just too adorable for words!
Ahh I love those outfits! : )
those outfits are cute! i'm going to miss wearing winter clothes as I went to college in Rochester and now I'm living in Arizona. I hope the office will still have the AC blasting on in the winter so I can dress up anyways!
those are great outfits. I'm gonna have to reward myself 1 new outfit this week....I definitely can swing it if it's all from ON, Target or Forever 21!
Thanks for that tidbit!
These are both entirely gorgeous. I so need to go hit up old navy for some new pretty fall things. May have to go hunt down those boots you put up. Can we spell ADORABLE?
oh man i love that first outfit. sometimes i really wish i lived in a colder state so i could wear all of this stuff.
Love, love, LOVE outfit #1.
Boots + dresses = giddy :-)
Ha Ha I love this post! And I love those boots!
I absolutely LOVE that purple coat in the first picture. It's so cute!
I am so excited about Fall Fashion!! It is my favorite time to shop and when I went into Target today I seriously felt light-headed! I did muster up some self restraint and only leave with super comfy sable ballet flats...but I'm not gonna lie there is a coat or two with my name on it.
Super Cute!
Love the outfits.. esp outfit# 2. Ohh and purple is the go-to colour anytime of the year for me :)
It's all fab-u-lous!
oooh I LOVE that purple coat!
Oh- cute outfits! :) I saw that purple coat the other day and I just love it! I am sad that my Old Navy doesn't have it yet. Maybe soon. Hooray for fall clothes! :)
Love the purple coat and the dress. I think I'm going to go hunt them down at Forever today at lunch...
I love fall, too! Pumpkin spice lattes, jack o' laterns and that light chill in the air...Aaaamazing.
I adore both of those outfits!
j'aime la jupe...very nice.
I love the posts you do on fashion. I'm a working girl in Boston, and the fashion statment here that blares the loudest is...dowdy. So I have a lot of fun keeping up with your blog, and seeing what people wear who actually give it a little thought. Love both of the outfits!
Omg! I love the outfits! Nice style!
I remember a past post where you (or maybe it was WG1? I can't remember...) stated that you don't have an eye for style and everyone in the office teases you about your Target duds. Well, to that I say your style vision is 20/20! lol. Seriously, both of these outfits are on point.
I almost choked on my "I must have them!" impulse when seeing those black pumps from F.21, but couldn't find them on the website. They had the same style but in a leopard print, but I need some basic, sexy black pumps. Anyone else have this problem?
I love the firs outfit but the second is just a little too... I don't know... sophisticated. But seriously, love the first one. Purple really is an amazing color!!
I positively love that second outfit. But I have to stay away from Target. Yesterday, I went to pick up lunch from Chick-fila and ended up dashing into target and buying two outfits!!!
That was one expensive salad!! LOL!
I LOVE both outfits, but especially the first one. It is my style to a "tea." :)
Love, love, LOVE that first outfit! If I had ANY fall shopping money I would rush out and duplicate it ASAP. So damn happy that fall is here. :)
Where on earth is that purple coat from??? I really really want it!
thanks for the inexpensive winter wardrobe options!!! i'm in my final year of law school, so i'm trying to lawyer-ize my wardrobe (what? i can't wear my red corduroy jacket into court?!). these are great options for those of us who have look hyper-professional but don't bring home the big bucks (yet).
thanks again! i especially love the grey skirt!
I LOVE when you do this! I suck at fashion so this makes it so easy:) MORE PLEASE!
I absolutely love the two outfits you posted. The change of season is an exciting time to get fun new clothes. These outfits are both so affordable. I have bought many things from Forever 21 and love love love their stuff. Their return policy is rather strict. I have never ordered anything online but I was wondering how the returns are with that. Thanks for your recent post for my blog.I'm new to the blog thing. I'm so glad people are reading!
Love these outfit picks!
I love these outfit - i want both :)great choices.
Gorgeous! I'm in love with both of those coats!
